BACKGROUND:

Mr. Mark Barrow holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in multiple states. He has experience in structural design, project management, construction administration, engineering management, fenestration product design, manufacturing operations management, and engineering forensics.

Mr. Barrow has extensive experience in structural design and design team project management involving post-tensioned concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, and wood-framed structures in the residential, commercial, industrial, and educational sectors. Mr. Barrow’s structural design experience covers a broad array of building types including high-value, single-family residential structures, high-rise residential structures, commercial retail facilities, commercial office buildings, warehouse facilities, educational buildings, and performing arts theaters. Mr. Barrow also served as an engineering and operations manager in the field of design, development, manufacturing, and testing of wind-loaded residential and commercial sectional and rolling doors and hurricane shutters. Mr. Barrow served as a member of the Door and Access Systems Manufacturers Association (DASMA) Commercial and Residential Garage Door Technical Committee responsible for code compliance and standards development for the commercial and residential garage door industry.

Mr. Barrow has extensive experience performing forensic investigation and analysis of storm-related damage, structural failures, structural fire damage, vibration damage, water damage, construction defects, structural design defects, vehicle impact damage, tree impact damage, building code and ADA accessibility code compliance, and premises liability evaluations. These investigations and analyses encompass numerous different types of structures and include floor failures, building settlement and/or collapse, moisture intrusions, wall and roof system failures, building envelope and cladding system deficiencies and failures, fenestration component deficiencies and failures, and pedestrian falls.
