BACKGROUND:

An honors graduate of the University of Florida with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and an M.S. degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Mr. Robert Corbett is a registered professional engineer with extensive experience in the residential and commercial building industry with over 9 years of professional experience.

Mr. Corbett’s industry knowledge covers areas of structural engineering, project management, construction management, construction special inspections, and implementing quality control procedures. Mr. Corbett’s area of expertise is primarily focused on residential and commercial buildings, which includes condition assessments of building systems, including foundations, framing, interior/exterior finishes, roofing systems, flooring failures, building settlement, hurricane and wind damage, concrete failures, plumbing failures, roofing system failures, and moisture intrusion. In addition to investigating construction claims, construction disputes, and construction accidents, he prepares structural calculations for buildings, docks and seawalls, and pre-engineered buildings. He has also managed large infrastructure projects, specifically focused on bridge construction. He also investigates premises liability where he verifies construction compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards, and contract specifications.

Mr. Corbett is a state-certified Mold Inspector, in which indoor air quality issues are assessed for potential contamination in residences, commercial buildings, and other facilities, and mitigation is designed/implemented. He is also certified as a Water Damage Restoration Technician by the IICRC, in which he demonstrates the knowledge to perform remediation work and an understanding of water damage, its effects, and techniques for drying structures.
