Mr. Rothstein is an Eastern Region Division Manager with the Construction Practice Group based in our New York Office. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in 11 states with more than 20 years’ experience in civil and structural engineering and construction. Mr. Rothstein has extensive experience investigating and analyzing failures, deficiencies and damage related to residential, commercial, and industrial facilities; including building movement, cracking of building components, storm damage, and moisture issues. He has construction and field engineering experience including an understanding of the application of OSHA and New York State Industrial Code provisions. He investigates construction claims, construction accidents, construction defects, the effects of construction on adjacent structures and construction compliance with applicable building codes and contract documents. Mr. Rothstein holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
Lori L. Cox, P.E. – Indianapolis, Indiana
Based in our Indianapolis office, Ms. Cox is a District Manager with the Property Practice Group. She is a Registered Professional Engineer in 30 states with more than 20 years of civil engineering experience. Ms. Cox has engineering consulting experience in various industries including residential, commercial, municipal, industrial, roadways, agricultural and manufacturing as well as premises liability including slip and falls, trip and falls and code compliance and construction liability. She has expertise in evaluating buildings and structures for a myriad of conditions and forms of damage such as code compliance, construction defects, risk assessment, moisture intrusion/water damage, structural failure analysis, differential foundation movement, roadway design and construction, paving operations, construction vibration and blasting/explosion damage, fire damage, and earthquake/hurricane/tornado/storm damage. She has testified in federal court, attended arbitrations, served as an umpire and has experience being deposed. Ms. Cox holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Kentucky State University.
Michael D. Parker, P.E. – Austin, Texas
Mr. Parker is a Senior Consultant with the Construction Practice Group based in our Austin office. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee and Texas with more than 18 years of experience in Civil Engineering. Mr. Parker’s expertise includes performing forensic evaluations of buildings, preparing structural engineering designs, and providing consulting services for roofing, and building envelopes. Additionally, he has opined on assignments involving building code compliance, construction defects and contractual disputes, foundation movement, structural failures, building envelope water intrusion, post-fire structural issues, vibration effects resulting from blasting, earthquakes, and construction equipment, storm and flood damage, hail damage, damage from high winds, vehicle impact to buildings and plumbing leaks. He also has extensive experience in the preparation of construction and bidding documents necessary for the restoration and/or rehabilitation of existing structures. Mr. Parker holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Christopher T. Goode, P.E. – Dallas, Texas
Based in our Dallas office, Mr. Goode is a Senior Consultant with the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Practice Group. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma with more than 15 years of diversified building engineering and facility management experience. His areas of expertise include investigating building damage, product design, and operational claims involving ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, steam, compressed air, electrical, fire protection, irrigation, industrial waste, plant layouts, manufacturing equipment installations and building envelope systems. He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE). Mr. Goode holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Erik C. Johnson, P.E., ACTAR, LEED AP BD+C – Las Vegas, Nevada
Mr. Johnson is a Division Manager for our Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Practice Group based in our Las Vegas office. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in 8 states and has more than 10 years of extensive industry experience in facility assessment, design, commissioning and operation of building HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and direct digital control (DDC) systems. He has opined on product liability cases involving chairs, appliances, water heaters, door systems, crossbows, forklifts, vehicle components and various heavy machinery. Mr. Johnson has a background in reconstructing vehicle accidents involving cars, motorcycles, trucks, recreational vehicles, pedestrians, and commercial vehicles. He also has experience with engineering analysis, automotive testing and data acquisition related to survivability and performance of military vehicles. Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
