Background

Colin is a quantity surveyor with over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, civil engineering, and building sectors of the construction industry.

Colin has used his technical expertise and experience in resolving complex quantum disputes, including assisting the expert in the preparation of independent expert reports on quantum analysis for variation, prolongation, and loss and profit claims, including assessment in arbitration and adjudication between the dispute parties.  He has been appointed in one Adjudication.

He has also appeared as a witness of fact in TCC (EWHC 2916 (TCC)).

His employers and clients have included international petrochemical manufacturers, international EPC contractors, subcontractors, liquidators, and administrators.

Colin has knowledge and understanding of all the major forms of contract which include NEC, JCT, ICE, ICC, FIDIC, and other bespoke forms.

He has provided a range of consultancy services including advice on claims, final accounts, contract negotiation, procurement and contractual arrangements, contract interpretation, and contract documentation.
