Background

Mr. Kapczynski has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Protection Technology from Corning Community College. He is a Certified Fire Investigator with the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI-CFI), the National Board of Fire Service Professional Qualifications and a New York State Certified Level II Fire Investigator with the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control. Mr. Kapczynski is a licensed private investigator in the State of Florida. He served in the City of Albany Fire Department for over twenty years and was a Lieutenant in the City of Albany’s Fire Investigation Unit (FIU) for approximately four years. As a member of the FIU, Mr. Kapczynski investigated and determined the origin and cause involving commercial structures, residential structures and vehicles. Mr. Kapczynski has testified on several occasions in criminal proceedings pursuant to his duties as a fire investigator.

Mr. Kapczynski currently belongs to several fire investigation associations including, The International Association of Arson Investigators, Fire Investigators of Florida Chapter 9, New York State Fire Investigators Chapter 23, Capital District of New York Fire Investigators, and the International Association of Marine Investigators. Mr. Kapczynski has been employed by Rimkus Consulting Group since January 2014 and has conducted over 250 fire investigations including vehicle, residential, commercial, and marine fire losses.
