Allison J. Yard

Consultant / M.S. / Fort Lauderdale

Background

Ms. Yard holds both M.S. and B.S. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Ohio State University. Her areas of expertise include biomechanical analysis of injuries and human motion as well as human anatomy.

As a forensic consultant, Ms. Yard utilizes biomechanical knowledge and accident reconstruction principles to analyze cases involving vehicle collisions, falling objects, slips/trips/falls and other injury accidents/incidents. She has extensive experience in using biomechanical tools and technologies to investigate the relationships between human injury and physical mechanical properties. She has analyzed mechanisms of injury and injury potentials of the human body seen in motor vehicle accidents and under-body blast scenarios. Ms. Yard has also developed experimental test fixtures to test bony blast injury of the lower limbs.

In traffic accident investigations, Ms. Yard’s responsibilities include vehicle inspection and documentation; damage consistency/causation evaluation; speed analysis; collision avoidance analysis; and vehicle crash data retrieval.

Ms. Yard is an active member of the Biomedical Engineering Society and was part of the Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society while attending college.
