Background

Ms. Yard received both her Master’s and Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering from The Ohio State University.  Ms. Yard’s primary areas of consulting expertise include injury causation biomechanics and accident reconstruction.  Ms. Yard performs biomechanical analysis on cases involving vehicle collisions, falling objects, slip/trip and falls and other injury accidents/incidents.

Ms. Yard’s previous experience in academia included using biomechanical tools and technologies to investigate the relationships between human injury and physical mechanical properties.  She has analyzed mechanisms of injury and injury potentials of the human body seen in motor vehicle accidents and under-body blast scenarios through the simulation of these events with cadavers.  Ms. Yard has also developed experimental test fixtures to simulate bony blast injury of the lower limbs.
