Background

Mr. Strandjord received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado. He is licensed as a professional engineer in 12 states and is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator. Mr. Strandjord has passed the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors (NCEES) licensing exams in both mechanical and electrical engineering.

Mr. Strandjord’s experience ranges from thermal analysis of individual electronic components and assemblies to the design, implementation, and operation of automation systems for control of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC), mechanical, and lighting systems in large facilities. His experience and industry knowledge includes building systems and controls, HVAC, electrical and electronic systems, welding, circuit board manufacturing, and thermal analysis.

Mr. Strandjord has investigated failures in a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems, such as consumer products, internal combustion engines, plumbing failures, appliances, commercial and industrial machinery, building systems, residential and commercial wiring, and electrical switchgear. He has performed assessments of construction defects, design errors and omissions, code compliance, performance deficiencies, component design/manufacturing defects, control system deficiencies, equipment and piping catastrophic failures, industrial and construction accidents, equipment and system maintenance, system facility assessment, and assessment of hail damage to mechanical equipment. Mr. Strandjord has experience in both structure and vehicle fire scene examinations.
