Bryan L. Skelly

With over 25 years of municipal fire service experience, Mr. Skelly has extensive experience in all facets of the fire service field. He retired from municipal service as a Deputy Fire Marshal after serving as a shift Firefighter/Paramedic and still is a state-licensed Master Peace Officer. Mr. Skelly is a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) through the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), as well as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI) through the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI). A former police detective in the suburban city of San Antonio, he remains active in the law enforcement community as a local County Deputy Sheriff. 

His experience includes performing municipal fire inspections and determining the origin and cause of fires in residential, commercial, and industrial properties, as well as fires in passenger/commercial vehicles and heavy construction equipment. He is knowledgeable about National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) fire codes and has building blueprint plan review skills regarding compliance with fire, life safety regulations, and building code compliance, including the review and approval of fire protection system plans.

Mr. Skelly also served as an Emergency Management Coordinator for the  City of Leon Valley, Texas, and as a principle Firefighter Instructor for the San Antonio College Regional Firefighter Academy. In addition, he has been trained in various facets of hazardous materials operations, and is a state-licensed mechanical contractor with knowledge of proper installation methods and procedures and experience as a municipal Mechanical Inspector checking for adherence to state and local city codes.
