Background

Mr. Schaffer holds a B.Arch. degree in Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and is a registered architect in California, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Florida.

He has extensive industry experience in design, construction, forensic analysis and related areas of the building construction sector.  His experience and industry knowledge covers over 20 years in areas of preparation of architectural documents, construction, investigating construction defects, cost estimating, repair scope and procedures, and premise liability in relation to slip-and-fall and trip-and-fall claims.  
Mr. Schaffer is experienced with the Brungraber Mk I Articulated Strut Tribometer in relation to bathing surfaces and is certified with the English XL Variable Incidence Tribometer slip resistance meter.

Mr. Schaffer’s design experience includes single-family residential and commercial buildings.  Forensic experience includes single and multi-family residential, mid-rise, commercial and institutional buildings for construction defects, weatherproofing evaluation, identification of mechanisms of failure including related resultant/consequential damage.
