Mr. Fleishman received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University. He is a licensed professional engineer and Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) through the National Association of Fire Investigators with a broad background of knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering. As a forensic engineer, he has provided consulting services for legal, insurance, and corporate clients in both plaintiff and defendant matters.

His professional background consists of over 40 years of experience in heavy machinery design, project management, manufacturing, and industrial processes, including those for the mining, coal, and cement industries. Mr. Fleishman has analyzed and determined the causations of mechanical component failures of consumer products, industrial products, heating ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing systems, fire protection systems, vehicles, and tractor-trailers. He has also investigated incidents and accidents related to equipment use and safety.

Mr. Fleishman’s assessments of equipment failures and accidents involving equipment ranging from motorized scooters, to vehicle components, to typical building systems, as well as heavy industrial equipment. His forensic experience includes investigating piping freeze-ups, sprinkler system malfunctions, product liability evaluation and testing, personal injury and safety investigations, and propane and natural gas explosions. His consultation experience extends to: press machinery; overhead garage doors; dust collectors; steel-manufactured pipes and piping systems; fiberglass and plastic; heat exchangers; HVAC systems; fire protection systems; pumps and pumping systems; compressors; printing presses; boilers; pneumatic and hydraulic tools; plumbing systems; lawnmowers; and oil-fired boilers and furnaces.

He has also investigated various assignments related to: machine design; machine guarding; materials handling; crane collapses; equipment drive designs; aerial boom lifts; equipment safety evaluations; and pressure and leak testing of natural gas and propane systems; trucks, vehicles and tractor-trailers.
