Background


Mr. McCrackin holds a B.A. degree Geoarchaeology with an emphasis in elemental analysis and surficial geophysics, and an M.S. degree in Environmental Science and Policy. He is also a registered professional geologist in Florida, Tennessee, Missouri Kentucky and Alabama and has completed numerous geophysical, geotechnical, and environmental investigations throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean. Mr. McCrackin is also a licensed Florida Mold Assessor and Mold Remediator certified to assess and remediate indoor air quality and mold related issues for residential, commercial and industrial facilities.

Mr. McCrackin’s comprehensive approach utilizing remote sensing, geophysics, and geotechnical testing methods for the geologic analysis of karst terrain has been the focus of his research and work experience. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. McCrackin has assisted with the successful completion of numerous projects in the field of geophysics and engineering geology. Mr. McCrackin’s experience includes data collection and data modeling of such methods as: ground penetrating radar, electrical resistivity tomography, seismic refraction, multi-channel analysis of surface waves, electromagnetics, magnetics, and conventional utility locating techniques. He has also presented on several topics regarding: geophysical mapping of karst terrain, infrastructure mapping, and regional mapping of the top of rock using GIS and spatial statistics.

Mr. McCrackin also has extensive field experience overseeing the successful completion of numerous geotechnical projects in order to assess various geologic and engineering hazards. Mr. McCrackin’s experience has included both small and large scale projects at underground utility sites, landfill surveys for municipalities and industrial facilities. Mr. McCrackin’s primary work experience has included projects regarding landfill delineation, plume mapping, void detection, concrete and roadway imaging, subsurface utility mapping, sinkhole investigations, subsidence studies, slope failures, geologic and hydrologic evaluations, and structural imaging. He is also provided expert deposition and trial testimony regarding various methods for geologic and engineering studies.
