BACKGROUND:
Chris is a chartered quantity surveyor with over 20 years of working experience acting for commercial developer clients, blue chip PLC clients, local authority clients, and regulated businesses including National Grid and National Highways, in a variety of sectors.
Chris is an experienced surveyor, whose core competencies are commercial management of complex construction projects, cost planning, contract practice and NEC contract administration, procurement and tendering, project financial control and reporting, quantification and costing of construction works, value management, risk management, change control, and conflict avoidance.
His experience has been gained leading commercial functions that are part of multi-disciplined teams embedded within client organisations delivering multi-million-pound major programmes of works, such as Smart Motorways, Regional Investment Programme, and National Grid Sub Station Framework delivery.
Chris has been exposed to all stages of the project lifecycle from business cases, feasibility studies, and master planning, through procurement and stage gate reviews to all pre- and post-contract negotiations, closure, and settlement procedures including dispute management and avoidance.
Chris has extensive knowledge of various forms of contracts, including JCT, FIDIC, and pre- and post-contract commercial management of the NEC3/4.
