Mr. Battles holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.

He has more than two decades of experience in the areas of design, engineering, project and construction management, engineering management, equipment specification, procurement, scheduling, cost estimating and budget control, and failure analysis. This experience includes oil and gas, chemical, aggregate, food and beverage, pulp and paper, metals, utilities, and municipal facilities.

Mr. Battles’ areas of expertise include process control design, electrical power system design and analysis, and automation system programming. He has expert knowledge in applying programmable logic control (PLC) systems, distributed control systems (DCS), human-machine interfaces (HMI), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, safety and alarm systems, variable speed drives (VFD), process instrumentation, and power distribution equipment (transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, power distribution panels, and lighting panels. He is also highly skilled in the interpretation and application of the National Electric Code (NFPA 70) and Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E).
