
BACKGROUND:
Mr. David Roberts holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structures and is a registered professional engineer in Florida. He has over 20 years of experience in civil and structural engineering consulting, design, and evaluation.
He has a strong working knowledge of construction practices, construction techniques, building codes, and standards; with practical experience in structural engineering (steel and concrete design), geotechnical engineering (foundation design and soil properties), land development (site design, drainage, and road layout), telecommunications site and structure design, and project management. He successfully completed courses or acquired certifications in Residential and Light Commercial Window and Door Installation, Level I Infrared Thermography, and the English XL Variable Incidence Tribometer.
As a forensic engineer, Mr. Roberts’ primary areas of expertise are construction defect evaluations, construction resolution, construction vibration damage evaluations, structural assessments of distressed and damaged buildings, evaluation and analysis of building and building component failures, moisture intrusions and moisture envelope evaluations, and collapses.
Mr. Roberts also provides consultations for and assessments of building code compliance issues and premises liability cases, such as ADA, means of egress, and slip-and-fall evaluations.
