Mr. Sobottka holds a B.S. in Architectural Engineering and is a registered professional engineer (Structural) in Arizona, New Mexico, Ohio, Texas, and Utah and a registered professional engineer (Civil) in California. He has 24 years of experience in the structural design, management, and inspection of commercial, institutional, and residential projects throughout the U.S.

Mr. Sobottka is skilled in the structural design of reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, structural steel, light-gauge steel, and wood. He is knowledgeable in the use of the International Building Code and is proficient in gravity and lateral wind and seismic analysis of buildings. His experience includes structural design, project management, team leadership, structural systems selection, value engineering, and construction administration. He is also proficient with the use of building information modeling technology.

Mr. Sobottka is experienced in contract construction document preparation, including preparing structural calculations, specifications, plans, and details. His project experience includes educational facilities, performing arts centers, commercial buildings, religious facilities, and residential projects. He has a diverse background in construction administration, including shop drawing review, responding to and managing contractor requests for information, and analysis and resolution of construction issues.

Over his career, Mr. Sobottka has performed numerous investigations evaluating structural damage, distress, and failure. He has investigated structures with overstress of structural elements, fire-damage, hail damage, hurricane and tornado damage, flood damage, foundation movement, and vehicular impacts. He has extensive experience performing special structural inspections and observations.
