Background

Mr. Heider holds a Master of Business Administration degree, a B.S. in Technology (Architectural/Environmental Design), an Associate’s degree in Applied Science (Aircraft Maintenance), is certified as a Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) through International Risk Management Institute (IRMI), and completed all coursework towards a Masters of Industrial Technology (Construction Management). Mr. Heider has over 27 years of construction industry experience and has worked in the fields of structural design, commercial project management, risk engineering, customer service, and claims management with focused experiences in bridge structure and Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) Wall detailing, technical data center and power upgrade projects, medical build-outs, risk due diligence and audit, and claims processing and support. Mr. Heider applies strategic thinking and attention to detail in the review and analysis subcontractor default and construction defect matters to assist in equitable claims resolutions in a wide variety of claim matters.

Previously, Mr. Heider worked for a global insurance carrier for 13 years where he provided risk engineering and Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) claim services to ENR Top General Contractors assisting in loss reduction and claim mitigation. Prior to that time, Mr. Heider spent more than 12 years as a key operations employee for a Columbus, Ohio-based general contractor where he was responsible for the management of multiple and various construction projects from the design and pre-construction phases through project completion and closeout. As a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS), he has a broad working knowledge in many insurance lines and has worked as a trusted resource for Underwriters, Claims Professionals, and Insureds in many complex matters. Further, Mr. Heider served for 8 years in the Ohio Air National Guard as a Flight Line Crew Chief assisting in the launch, recovery, and general maintenance and inspection of A7 and F16 aircraft.
