Ian C. Whiteley

Background

A graduate of San Jose State University with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Mr. Whiteley is a certified Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) in California specializing in engineering design, project management, and construction documentation. He has over 10 years of experience in civil engineering and construction fields covering a wide range of industries and project types, including residential and commercial land development design projects, nuclear governmental design and construction implementation projects, and telecommunications site development.

Mr. Whiteley’s forensic investigation expertise includes cause and origin failure analysis, civil and geotechnical analysis, and evaluation and condition assessments of single-family residences, commercial properties, and nuclear buildings. Representative forensic engagements include construction defects, foundation movement, structural failures, impact damage, water intrusion, soil heave and settlement, and post-fire structural issues. 

His construction experience consists of construction management, procurement, cost estimation, scheduling, building deconstruction management, and dispute resolution. Mr. Whiteley’s design knowledge extends to foundations and subsurface structures, retaining walls, shoring and underpinning systems, steel platform and equipment supports, piping, and water collection systems.
