Mr. Joel Espinosa holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical Systems and Design. He is a registered professional engineer in multiple states and has over 10 years of diversified experience in oil and gas piping systems and design.
He has worked in the oil and gas industry as a staff mechanical engineer, a lead mechanical engineer, a project engineer, and a project manager. He has also worked as a consulting energy engineer evaluating building energy efficiency.
Mr. Espinosa’s areas of expertise include engineering design of piping systems for crude and refined liquid products as well as natural gas and chemicals. This includes the specification, design, manufacture, and procurement of pumps, filtration components, flow conditioning, valves, flow meters, and other equipment. He is also experienced in piping systems stress analysis and hydraulic systems modeling. Other energy expertise includes pipeline asset integrity data management, materials/equipment requisitioning, Front End Engineering Design (FEED) studies, Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP) validation, and pipeline code compliance. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) experience includes commercial building energy efficiency analysis as well as the evaluation and documentation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems including air handling systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, refrigerant heat pumps, and geothermal systems.
