Background

Dr. Ramirez holds a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and is a registered professional mechanical engineer. He has over 10 years of experience performing scientific and engineering evaluations which include, but are not limited to, incident investigations of fires and explosions in industrial, commercial, and residential settings, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system failure analysis, products evaluation and testing, contractor standard of care, personal injury (burns and scalds) evaluation, and natural gas utility locate rules. 

He has performed research in the areas of process safety, consumer product safety, industrial accidents, fires and explosions, heat transfer, and thermodynamics; and has spoken, written, and published numerous papers and articles in his fields of expertise.  With his history of working in design of HVAC and refrigeration systems for retail stores, grocery stores, and office buildings, he his extremely knowledgeable about system performance issues including building moisture management failures, asphyxiation by refrigerant release, carbon monoxide exposure, and pipe bursting due to water freezing.  He uses his experience to investigate HVAC system failures, perform mechanical assessments, evaluate defective installation, system commissioning, construction contract conformity, adherence, manufacturer defects, and mechanical equipment condition assessments.
