Kizito A. Taiwo

Principal Consultant / P.E. / Baltimore

Mr. Taiwo holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer with experience in geotechnical, structural, and civil engineering, failure analysis, and construction services. Mr. Taiwo's structural engineering experience includes analysis, design, destructive, and non-destructive investigations of distressed structures, assessment of corroded structural metals, reinforced cast-in-place concrete structures, precast concrete structures, and foundations systems.

He has designed and assessed the existing conditions of bridges, marine terminals, and buildings, evaluated the load capacities of historic structural elements, distressed and collapsed highway structures, harbor structures including piers, graving docks, deep foundations evaluation, and design of structural upgrades; evaluated buildings damaged by impact from moving and falling objects, blasting, vibrations, fire, wind, and earthquake. Mr. Taiwo’s geotechnical engineering experience includes the design of shallow and deep foundations, slope stability and investigation of slope failures, differential settlement analysis and investigation, and design of paved structures and earth and stormwater retaining structures. His experience also includes soil investigations for the support of buildings, harbor structures, bridges, roadways, stormwater management facilities, water and gas distribution networks, airport runways, military flight lines, collapsed airport pavements (runways and taxiways), and aircraft landing pads.

Mr. Taiwo has extensive forensic and litigation support experience in distressed structures involving foundations, deep excavation support failures, structural underpinning failures, detrimental differential settlement of buildings, roadways, aircraft landing pavements and flight lines, commercial airports and runways, pavements, built-up and single and multi-ply roof systems, moisture intrusion of building envelopes, sprayed-on fireproofing and insulation, and failure investigation/material testing of timber, wood, aluminum, concrete, and steel products.

As a forensic engineer, Mr. Taiwo has investigated damage to private water and public sewerage drainage systems, private well water and septic systems, underground stormwater storage tanks collapse, and failures of stormwater storage ponds and retention structures. He has provided expert witness testimony in depositions, courtrooms, and arbitrations.
