BACKGROUND:
Mr. Mark Dooley holds a B.A. degree in Business Management and is a Certified Fire Investigator, Certified Inspector, and Certified Fire Inspector.
He has been a lead instructor since 1999, teaching fire investigation courses at the Des Moines Fire Department to recruits and station personnel, as well as at the Des Moines Police Department to recruits. He was also a member of the validating committee for Fire Investigator 3rd Edition textbook published by International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA).
As a fire investigator, he has conducted origin and cause investigations on fatal structure fires, residential fires, commercial fires, and vehicle fires. His experience and industry knowledge cover over 26 years in areas of fire suppression operations, paramedic care and transportation, water rescue, hazardous materials, permit inspections, new construction inspections, fire systems plan review, model code adoption, and fire investigations.
