BACKGROUND:
Martin Bedford has over 10 years’ experience as a planning manager and the application of 4D planning techniques. Martin is the 4D planning service lead for Rimkus in the UK.
Since 2013, Martin has worked on a range of high-profile construction projects as a 4D planner supporting projects in developing BIM level 2 standards, digital capabilities and driving efficiency through the application of 4D processes.
Martin has acted as an IT project manager and BIM solutions architect. During this time, he was involved in the procurement, negotiation, and maintenance of global partnerships with technology software suppliers. This included working closely with suppliers to identify potential opportunities to utilise innovation and new products to improve internal processes.
He has been involved with a UK 4D industry working group to accelerate utilisation of emerging technologies within the industry, drive project innovation and meeting regularly with industry software leaders to develop functionality.
Previous experience includes working in a range of roles including engineering, planning and BIM to gain valuable site experience and understanding of project management and logical working techniques.
