Michael R. Hill

Background

Dr. Hill received his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh, after earning an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a B.S. in Biological Engineering from Mississippi State University. His primary areas of consulting expertise include biomechanics and injury causation, vehicle accident reconstruction, and tissue damage mechanics. Dr. Hill performs biomechanical analysis on cases involving low speed accidents, driver determination, occupational injuries, and slip/trip and falls.

Prior to joining Rimkus, Dr. Hill served as a Research Engineer in the Trauma Division of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He was awarded Postdoctoral Fellowships at the University of Texas at Austin and at the University of Nottingham in the UK. Dr. Hill’s broad academic experience includes orthopedic, cardiovascular and pulmonary biomechanics, engineering, and scientific research. His Master’s and Ph.D. studies focused on the mechanical and damage properties of biological tissues. He has taught advanced engineering and mathematics classes, giving lectures in both graduate and undergraduate courses in biomechanics. He has an extensive publication record, both in basic science and in clinical applications of biomechanics. Dr. Hill has presented his research findings in numerous international conferences.
