Background

Mr. King is a professional engineer with significant experience in heavy industrial machinery, pressure vessels, mechanical maintenance and repair, maritime systems, machine design, and analysis. He holds a B.S.M.E. from Boston University and an M.E. in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Mr. King has extensive experience with an array of mechanical systems and components. His engineering practice has included design of valves and actuators, maintenance and repair of surface and submersible ship systems, and mechanical design of pressure vessels, gear transmissions, piping systems, structural members, weldments, tooling, and fixtures. Mr. King has substantial hands-on experience investigating mechanical and manufacturing defects of all sorts and has in-depth knowledge of metrology and mechanical codes. He has planned and overseen maintenance and investigative projects involving fluid systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, actuators, turbines, and machinery.

Mr. King has been responsible for the design, manufacture, testing, installation, and maintenance of valves and mechanical systems for refineries and manufacturing facilities around the world. He also has significant experience with electro-mechanical systems that utilize explosion-proof transducers, encoders, and switches for device positioning and safety interlock systems.

Mr. King has been an avid skier since the age of 3. His passion for the mountains extends through the seasons on a mountain bike, dirt bike, or hiking with his family and dog.
