Mr. Kamen is a 1973 graduate of Webb Institute of Naval Architecture with a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering. He completed a Master of Engineering degree in Naval Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley in 1979. He is a licensed professional engineer (mechanical) in California. Mr. Kamen is a member of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers.
Before joining Rimkus, he consulted for various clients, bringing to bear specialties that include surface-piercing propellers, high-speed planing craft, structural analysis, personal watercraft, and sailboat operation.
Mr. Kamen also provides specialized marine forensic engineering services including accident reconstruction, small craft capsizing, sinking, high-speed collision, tubing accidents, personal watercraft accidents, patent disputes, and various kinds of sailboat casualties. Mr. Kamen has testified on maritime matters in State and Federal Courts.
