Mr. Kingsby holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Kansas. He holds a general contractor’s license in Johnson County, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri. Also, Mr. Kingsby is a certified commercial pesticide applicator in Kansas and Missouri. Mr. Kingsby obtained an electric trade certificate upon graduating from a trade and technical high school. A detailed oriented engineer, Mr. Kingsby enjoys learning and providing solutions to complex or challenging problems. Mr. Kingsby placed an emphasis on structural engineering and civil site drainage solutions with over 17 years as a practicing civil engineer. He is proficient in the structural analysis of concrete and steel structures and has a strong background in detail design of construction documents and supporting specifications. Mr. Kingsby has engaged in several onsite industrial construction investigations and observations at oil refineries, grain distilleries, and consumer foods producers. Mr. Kingsby extensively used many design codes and specifications such as the UBC, CBC, IBC, IRC, ASCE-7, AISC 360, AISC 341, and ACI 318. Mr. Kingsby has reviewed numerous shop drawings to ensure they coincide with engineered detail design intent. He is an efficient communicator, taking complex or abstract design specifications and translating them into easily understood language.

Mr. Kingsby has expertise in new and existing home construction. Owning and operating a residential home building company since 2015, has given him invaluable understanding of residential construction detailed design methods. He has built new homes that bear on soil – or rock – or supported by deep foundations (like cast-in-place piles). Mr. Kingsby has experience constructing new home foundations when fill or rock is incurred. He is very familiar with the current building design code adopted by most jurisdictions having authority, the International Residential Code (IRC), and regularly interprets their intent to new home owners and subcontractors. Mr. Kingsby seamlessly communicates new home owners’ design criteria to all skilled subcontracted laborers.

For six years Mr. Kingsby owned and operated a professional commercial pesticide application company. His effectiveness as a skilled communicator allowed him to interact with a diversified client population. Mr. Kingsby has a broad knowledge into turf grass science. He understands the proper nutrient and management practices of turf grasses. Mr. Kingsby has a work ethic which can best be described as a relentless approach to quality and excellence in service. That work ethic, along with his knowledge, allowed him to grow his turf application business mostly off satisfied customer referrals and very little extra forms of marketing.

Mr. Kingsby worked for approximately 13 years as a structural engineer at a consulting engineering firm located in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Kingsby furthered his knowledge of structural and civil engineering at that firm. He improved his critical thinking ability to understand the entire construction process. Mr. Kingsby enhanced and honed his estimating and scheduling skill set, utilizing various resources provided by the firm or created by Mr. Kingsby. He worked on small $4 million projects to large $350 million projects. Mr. Kingsby started his professional engineering career assisting and learning from other lead structural engineers, to becoming a lead structural engineer, assisting and helping other new engineers learn. As lead structural engineer, Mr. Kingsby engineered detailed design drawings for oil refining clients, grain distilleries, and consumer foods producers.
