Santiago L. Schenone

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering, Mr. Santiago Schenone is a licensed professional engineer in California and Florida, and a licensed structural engineer in Illinois. He has over 12 years of structural engineering experience with a diverse project profile that includes museums, high-rises, condominiums, distribution centers, historic estates, schools, medical facilities, and power plants, with particular focus on construction and design in high-wind/hurricane zones and high-seismic (earthquake) zones.
Mr. Schenone’s expertise extends to project management, permitting, peer reviews, field inspections, quality control, procurement support, and budget control. He is also skilled in the evaluation of existing structures, repair projects, additions, renovations, and component engineering (windows, doors, equipment supports, etc.). In California, Mr. Schenone has worked on projects under the rigorous jurisdiction of the Division of State Architect (DSA) and the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD).
Forensic assignments have included: investigations of residential and commercial structures to determine the cause and origin of interior moisture damage; inspections of slab foundations and elevated floor systems to verify whether damage was caused by soil movement; assessments of various types of roofs (e.g., low-slope, composition-shingle, concrete/clay tile) to determine if systems were damaged by weather-related events or wear and tear; and evaluations of flooring systems to determine the source(s) of reported damage. He has also performed structural damage assessments and developed repair protocols, assessed construction defects, and investigated premises liability cases related to trip and fall incidents.
