Scot McCavour

Background

Mr. McCavour is a Principal Structural Consultant with IRC Building Sciences Group, A Rimkus Company and has over thirty-five years of structural design experience specializing in roof and wall assemblies. He has served as a Consultant, Project Manager and Design Engineer on numerous building projects across Canada ranging from portable buildings to large industrial projects and structural demolition projects.

A knowledge and interest in Cold Form Steel Design has led to the development of expertise in panelized building and panelized wall construction and involvement with overseas housing projects. Structural condition assessments of building assets are another area where he has been able to use his experience to augment the Building Science capabilities of the IRC Group. Mr. McCavour has been actively involved with the writing of design standards for the building industry through the Canadian Standards Association.
