Background

Mr. Rudolph earned a B.S. degree in Biology from Marquette University and M.S. degrees in Genetics and Industrial Hygiene from Michigan State University and the University of Michigan, respectively. He holds certifications as an Industrial Hygienist, Safety Professional, and Asbestos Consultant, and is a Registered Environmental Property Assessor (REPA). Mr. Rudolph specializes in the evaluation and control of chemical (particularly asbestos), biological, and physical hazards in occupational and community settings. His primary areas of consulting include hazard assessments, accident investigations, hazard prevention, regulatory requirements, and the standard of care regarding workplace hazards.

In his career spanning four decades, Mr. Rudolph has conducted chemical toxicity, workplace accident, and environmental exposure evaluations as well as exposure risk assessments involving indoor air quality, asbestos, moisture intrusion and mold, chemical releases/spills, semiconductor product safety, and smoke/soot contamination. His extensive safety management experience has made him a subject matter expert on situations regarding workplace and construction injuries. Investigations include, but are not limited to: indoor air quality, asbestos (including FELA railroad cases) and toxic chemical exposures, fall protection, ladders, machine guarding, working/walking surfaces, ADA, premise liability, confined spaces, control of hazardous energy (e.g., lockout/tagout), flammable/explosive materials, protective equipment, regulatory requirements, and employer/employee standard of care on single- and multi-employer worksites. Additionally, he has led, developed, and managed industrial hygiene, safety, and ergonomic performance systems in industrial and governmental settings.

Mr. Rudolph is a member of many professional organizations, including: American Board of Industrial Hygiene, Board of Certified Safety Professionals, American Industrial Hygiene Association, National Fire Protection Association, American Public Health Organization, Public Agency Risk Managers Association, Public Agency Safety Management Association, and California County Safety Officers Organization. He is also member of the California Occupational Safety and Health Standard Board’s Advisory Committee.
