Mr. Lewis holds a B.S. in Architectural Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in Louisiana, California, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.
He has over 28 years of experience working as an engineer in both the seismically-active San Francisco Bay area and the hurricane-prone Gulf Coast region. His professional experience includes structural engineering analysis, structural design, failure analysis, construction phase services, and construction defect determinations. His design experience has included structural design of numerous buildings; building and equipment foundation design; historic rehabilitation; structural steel design; timber design; cold-formed steel design; reinforced concrete design; concrete tilt-up design; low-traffic bridge design; high-rise rehabilitation; unreinforced masonry retrofits; and masonry design.
Mr. Lewis has supervised construction and repair operations, responded to construction deviations, developed design procedures, and inspected construction. He has expertise in assessing buildings and structures for construction defects, moisture intrusion/water damage, structural failure analysis, differential foundation movement, construction vibration damage, hurricane damage, tornado damage, seismic damage, fire damage, hail damage, and premises liability claims.
