Mr. Hopson holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, with an emphasis on structural design. He is a registered professional engineer in the states of Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, Mississippi, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Arkansas.

He has over 10 years of experience in structural design, construction inspection, evaluation of existing structures, performing quality assurance and quality control reviews, developing engineer’s estimates, and preparing contract documents. He has additional experience in the design of piping and pipe supports and writing specifications for water processing equipment and protective coatings.

Mr. Hopson’s structural and process experience includes the design of concrete, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, masonry, pipe supports, process air and liquid pipe systems, low-slope roofing systems, process piping and equipment, manholes, occupied buildings, retaining walls, and supporting infrastructure. His construction experience includes building code-required special inspections of structural elements, identifying and evaluating defective work, reviewing shop drawing submittals, acting as a liaison between owners and contractors, and preparing documentation for changes to contract requirements. He has evaluated existing masonry and concrete structures for structural distress and life safety requirements, determined structure serviceability, recommended repair options, and provided engineering cost estimates for repairs. He has specified protective coatings for concrete and steel located in corrosive environments, and evaluated and given repair recommendations for existing coatings.
