Background

Mr. Wilson is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator, and Certified Fire Investigator Instructor by the National Association of Fire Investigators. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Fire, Arson and Explosion Investigations. He has over 17 years of experience as a firefighter and is a National Registry Paramedic. Mr. Wilson is currently employed as a Fire Lieutenant for Chesterfield Fire and EMS, as well as a Fire Investigator at Rimkus Consulting Group.

Mr. Wilson has responded to hundreds of fires during his fire career. He began his tenure in the fire service as a volunteer in Boydton, Virginia. He remained a volunteer while attending Eastern Kentucky University. While attending Eastern Kentucky University, he attended multiple FDIC and NAFI conferences where he obtained Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator, and Certified Fire Investigator Instructor. After college, he worked for Newport News Fire Department where he obtained National Registry Intermediate EMS certification and graduated from Tidewater Regional Fire Academy Class 110. Mr. Wilson began employment with Chesterfield Fire and EMS in 2008. During his career with Chesterfield, he has been assigned to four different engine companies as a Firefighter/Medic and two different engine companies as a Lieutenant/Medic. He obtained Fire Instructor 1 & 2, Officer 1 & 2, Firefighter 1 & 2 Instructor, and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2015. He completed National Registry Paramedic in 2019. Mr. Wilson was an instructor for Chesterfield Fire and EMS where he assisted with teaching new recruits, as well and in-service training for all members of the organization. He has also held the role of Project Manager to replace the EMS bags for the entire department.
