Mr. Richard Párraga holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University and is a registered professional engineer in over 20 different states, including Florida.
His comprehensive engineering expertise in the mechanical engineering discipline spans multiple sectors with a specialization in full-cycle product design and development engineering, from concept to market. His contributions have led to patents he holds in the aerospace sector pertaining to unmanned aerial vehicles. His broad engineering experiences range through various diverse industries, including automotive, aviation, manufacturing, energy, transportation, and forensic analyses. These industries have included engineering compact and mid-size passenger vehicles, passenger side airbags, jet engines, aerospace test rigs, consumer packaged goods manufacturing, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), package delivery systems, building energy/load analyses, and movable bridges.
His substantial engineering design and development background includes work in the automotive sector on vehicle instrument panels and passenger airbags. His work in the aerospace sector, for jet engines, includes design, development, analyses, and detailing of multiple commercial and confidential government projects. Additionally, his aerospace experience extends into the UAV side where he has managed the design and development of multiple modular full drone assemblies. His work in UAVs culminated in securing patents for the first highest strength-to-weight aerial vehicle winch assembly. He has worked in the consumer packaged goods industry on the manufacturing side, increasing and maintaining assembly and component output. His experience in the energy sector consists of building energy models and consulting clients on potential tax deductions based on energy-efficient work installation. His design and development expertise extends into the civil/transportation sector for the inspection and design of multiple types of movable bridges. He also has extensive inspection experience of mechanical systems within movable bridges.
As an engineering forensic consultant, he performs vehicle accident investigations and reconstructions through the collection of vehicle state and information, the analysis of the collected data, including downloaded Event Data Recorder (EDR) information, and reporting of the findings to the client. He also investigates failures for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and units, and machinery assemblies and components at commercial and industrial locations.
