Along with a B.S. and an M.S. in Civil Engineering with a highway engineering specialty, Mr. Boris Ivanov is a registered professional engineer in Illinois and Missouri.
He has over 27 years of experience in structural engineering and construction management of commercial and residential structures of various scales. Mr. Ivanov has extensive experience with steel, reinforced concrete and timber structural systems, foundations, and various building components like curtainwall systems, cladding panel systems, and pre-fabricated wood and metal trusses.
As a forensic engineer, he has performed assessments on residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial building structures to determine origin and cause of failure. Specifically, Mr. Ivanov evaluates foundation failures, structural deficiencies and failures, damage from fires, tornadoes, rain, snow, hail, soil, groundwater loads, mine subsidence, deterioration and inadequate maintenance, demolition, construction and materials defects, and vehicle impacts. He is also a skilled evaluator of applicable building codes and contract specifications on under-construction projects.
