With a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University, Mr. Scott Simmons is a professional engineer with diverse experience in industrial engineering, production, and maintenance, mechanical building systems, and vehicle and equipment failures. He is a Certified Vehicle Accident Reconstructionist (ACTAR #3706) through the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction.
Mr. Simmons has a broad understanding of manufacturing processes, including a considerable amount of hands-on experience with rotating industrial machinery. He has been responsible for executing projects involving grain-handling equipment, heat exchangers, centrifugal pumps, a large variety of conveying equipment, flash and rotatory steam tube dryers, natural gas dryers, screen presses, bucket elevators, instrumentation monitoring, grinders, and various other rotating equipment in a food-grade facility. Many of the projects he executed required the usage of cranes, boom lifts, monorails, forklifts, and hoists.

Mr. Simmons has significant experience investigating claims involving the failure of safety practices and/or equipment in gas-powered machines and piping. He has inspected numerous equipment involved in carbon monoxide and other hazardous gas exposures.
Mr. Simmons is also a veteran in climbing mountains above 14,000 feet. He has climbed all 58 named peaks above 14,000 feet in the state of Colorado and completed all four Colorado Great Traverses, Mount Rainier, Pico de Orizaba, and Chimborazo.
