Forensic Engineer Jerry Mercer, P.E. Joins Distinguished Speaker Panel at 2013 ABA Property Insurance Law Committee Annual Spring CLE Meeting
Gerald (Jerry) Mercer, P.E., Vce President at Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc., has been selected to speak at the 2013 Property Insurance Law Committee Annual Spring CLE Meeting, presented by the American Bar Association (ABA) Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section. Mercer will be a panelist on the topic Expert Issues. The panel will discuss how to identify proper experts needed to support or refute the application of exclusions and how the Daubert standard may impact an expert's ability to opine on these exclusions.
The Spring Meeting will be held May 16 -18 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, with a focus on Exclusions and Extensions of Coverage in All-Risk Policies. The program will include an “Insurance 101” session specifically geared toward new claim professionals and attorneys, along with a variety of topics relative to property insurance law, ranging from burden of proof issues to bad faith and extra-contractual claims. Mercer is vice president over the Property and Construction practice groups at Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc., an international forensic engineering and consulting firm.
