Course Description: Digital Intelligence: The Future of Forensics is a one-hour course designed to give an overview of the many potential data points for forensic analysis that can only be acquired via digital means. The course will provide some familiarity of the types of data that could be available from different electronic devices including, but not limited to, mobile phones, GPS devices, smart wearables, the Internet of Things, cloud-based data, social media evidence, and specialized industrial equipment. The course will also cover examples and topics related to how those data points of evidence can be applied to individual analysis specific to the type of loss.

David Lund is an ACTAR-accredited Traffic Accident Reconstructionist, ASE Certified Automotive Technician, and ASE Certified Medium-and Heavy-Duty Truck Technician. He is also a certified Crash Data Retrieval Technician and licensed FAA drone pilot. As a transportation consultant, he performs investigations of vehicle and mechanical system failures and provides consulting services and accident reconstructions. These investigations may include photography of the scene, collection of evidence, and determination of an accident’s origin and cause. Mr. Lund’s background involves internet technologies, including support of the system administration of front-line servers, network security administration, and internet technologies for an internet provider in North Texas. He also systems managed or supported Unix, Linux, and Windows NT server systems, while providing support for customer subscribers on computers systems based on DOS, Windows, Macintosh, and Linux. Additionally, Mr. Lund has experience in SQL database programming, and experience with C, C+, Java, Javascript, ASP, and front-end web development.
