Background

The Rimkus team assisted on a project related to the design and construction for the stabilisation and upgrading of an existing offloading jetty for oils at an import terminal in Nigeria. The construction activities needed to be undertaken within a live, operational environment.

Services Provided

Rimkus provided pre- and post-contract management, project management, and commercial management services including:

• Competitive tendering and contract support for the appointment of a suitably experienced marine engineering design consultant to carry out the preliminary and detailed design
• Project and commercial management of the preliminary and detailed design contract
• A review of the design deliverables including the scope of works, cost estimate, and project programme
• Management of the tender process for the construction works

The design and construction contracts were tendered using the FIDIC form of contracts.
