BACKGROUND:

John is a Technical Lead for the Mechanical and Electrical investigations with extensive practitioner, regulatory, and expert witness (criminal and civil courts as well as arbitration, adjudication, and mediation tribunals) experience in many commercial and industrial settings involving electrical engineering and workplace accident investigation.

He also has extensive expertise in other areas and is repeatedly instructed on insurance losses and arbitration, adjudication, and mediation matters valued in excess of GBP£100 million both in the UK and overseas as well as complex health and safety prosecutions including Corporate Manslaughter and Gross Negligence Manslaughter. His instructions often are at the direct request of insurers and barristers.

John has experience of research and development on European Commission projects related to mining as well as acting as a Technical Expert for electrical engineering installations for the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB).

John has experience within a broad range of sectors, including electrical engineering (high voltage and low voltage), control and instrumentation, construction, mining, renewable energy (wind turbines, solar farms, waste to energy, and recycling), potentially explosive atmospheres, workplace accident investigations, cableways, and health and safety management systems.
