Child vehicle passenger safety has evolved significantly in the last two decades. Even as regulations develop, there is currently no federal law which standardizes the use of child restraint systems (CRS) across the United States. Understanding the unique characteristics of the pediatric body leads to understanding the vulnerabilities of each child and, therefore, how to better protect them.
