Mr. Douglas Sloan started his career working for local roofing contractors in the late 1970s. In 1981, he became a roofing inspector and started with Batten Sears and Associates in 1983. In his nearly 40 years of consulting experience, Mr. Sloan has been the project lead on developing roofing programs for a number of Ottawa school boards prior to the amalgamation of the local boards. Programs included a full service from condition assessment and replacement design, to quality assurance and project management for replacement projects. He has also performed thousands of forensic investigations and emergency repairs. Today, Mr. Sloan oversees the operations for the entire Ottawa branch, and within the roofing practice area, he provides roofing strategies, direction, peer review, and project management.
