BACKGROUND:

Mr. James Dodds is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in Alabama. He is experienced in construction services and project management with an extensive engineering background in the power utility sector, where he specialized in design, analysis, and failure analysis.

Mr. Dodds’ engineering expertise includes the design and analysis of nuclear-class piping systems. This experience includes the analyses of variable and constant spring hangers, pipe support assemblies, pipe stress, and seismic requirements. Additionally, he was charged with multi-discipline construction coordination and management, BIM modeling, contract, and construction administration. Mr. Dodds’ experience includes site investigations to determine the cause of failures, the support of future plant maintenance through identifying potential at-risk piping components, and performing time-critical evaluations to support plant operability during the outage schedule.

Mr. Dodds’ work in the field of forensic engineering includes the evaluation of residential and commercial properties and structures. Representative investigations have included the determination of the origin and cause of failures and other performance-related issues in foundations, vertical and lateral load-carrying structural systems, wall assemblies and cladding, roof coverings, and civil/structural piping applications.
