BACKGROUND:

Mr. Mark Hartle has over 35 years of experience in project management, structural design, and consulting on various types of projects including hospitality, religious, healthcare, education, multi-family residential, mixed-use, financial institutions, and office buildings.  His experience includes the design and management of structural systems in concrete, steel, masonry, and wood.  He has also acted as the Structural Engineer of Record on numerous diverse projects.

In the commercial real estate due diligence field, Mr. Hartle has been involved in many aspects of property evaluation, portfolio management, and client management.  His experience has focused on property condition assessments for property transfers, financing, and building acquisitions.  He has worked directly with acquisition managers, lending institutions, legal counsel, and financial analysts as part of his due diligence experience.

Mr. Hartle has extensive experience performing structural condition assessments, transaction-based property condition assessments, and related architectural/engineering/real estate due diligence services on a wide range of property types including office, industrial, retail, hospitality, and multi-family housing. He has also performed construction consulting services including conducting reviews of project documents including drawings, specifications, scope of work, surveys, geotechnical reports, environmental reports, permits, zoning, design agreements, construction contracts, construction costs, construction schedules, and related documents provided for compliance with generally accepted and current industry standards; performed various project site visits coordinated with the contractor’s request for payment and OAC meetings; observed the quality of workmanship, reviewed pay requests, costs of work in place, change orders, stored materials, and the adequacy of balances to complete, variances, and the status of construction completion; reviewed monthly meeting minutes kept by the project team; and reported on the quality control/assurance program compliance and performing close-out inspections.

Mr. Hartle has additional expertise in structural forensic investigations where his experience includes evaluation and determination of the cause, origin, and extent of structural failures, construction defects, and other failures.
