
BACKGROUND:
Mr. Sava White holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering with a structural engineering emphasis and is a licensed civil engineer in Alaska, Washington, and Nevada.
He has diverse industry experience in the structural design and analysis of steel, timber, and concrete buildings and structures. He has worked on the design and analysis of commercial, residential, and industrial structures utilizing a wide range of materials and analysis methods. Mr. White’s areas of expertise include cold region engineering and detailing as well as the design and analysis of new and existing wood, concrete, steel, and masonry projects. He has been responsible for executing many complex engineering and construction assignments across Alaska in a wide range of environmental and seismic conditions.
Mr. White has structural engineering experience in natural gas and petrochemical pipelines and related areas of the energy/industrial sector. His design experience includes shallow frost-protected concrete foundations, piers, and docks with steel, concrete, and timber superstructures, residential timber frames, structural insulated panels, concrete high-rises, pre-tensioned concrete floors, and cast-in-place concrete foundations for crude and refined petroleum tanks and pipeline supports.
As a forensic engineer, Mr. White has conducted investigations such as vibrations in elevated concrete and steel floors, seismic evaluations of steel and concrete parking structures, residential remodels, crawl space water intrusions, collapsing attic trusses, and degraded steel structures. He has evaluated concrete docks, metal deck floors, concrete foundations, and frost-heaved columns, and provided contractor support for a diverse range of complex construction tasks. Mr. White has conducted investigations of maritime facilities including timber, concrete, and steel docks, waterfront processing facilities, and construction inspections of docks, piers, and pilings
