Mr. T’Andre Smith holds both a B.S. and M.S. degree in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas. He has professional experience in the buildings industry specializing in the structural design of both single-family and multi-family residential structures, as well as industrial warehouse, commercial, and mixed-use facilities. Mr. Smith also has extensive professional experience in the design and analysis of bridge structures including direct connectors, main lane overpasses, braided ramps, and phased construction.

Mr. Smith’s extensive background involves various facets of structural engineering. His areas of expertise include concrete deep beam analysis, post-tensioned concrete design, steel frame analysis, foundation design, wood frame construction, and structural retaining walls. Throughout his career as a civil/structural design engineer, Mr. Smith has fulfilled roles requiring client and contractor coordination, preparation of final calculations per municipal requirements for building permits, interpretation and implementation of building codes with project plan specifications, and seismic detailing. He has also performed numerous field investigations ranging from monitoring contractor activity to evaluating existing structures for serviceability or future development.

In his current role as a forensic engineer, he conducts a variety of evaluations and investigations pertaining to determining the origin, cause, extent, and repairability of damage and/or failures to structural systems, building envelopes, building materials, and building coverings. Some examples of these types of evaluations and investigations include those related to hail, wind, flooding, water intrusion, fire, foundation structures, foundation/soil movement, retaining wall structures, structural framing, roofs, walls, tree impacts, vehicle impacts, construction, and construction defects.
