Thomas M. Slattery
Consultant / P.E. / St. Louis
Mr. Slattery is a 2010 graduate of the University of Missouri, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a licensed professional engineer with over 9 years of experience in the design, controls, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
Mr. Slattery’s areas of expertise include the design of refrigeration systems, programming and integration for programmable logic control (PLC) systems, and performance and operation analysis for mechanical systems. He has developed construction documents, sequences of operations, and specifications for refrigeration systems and equipment. He has also written and integrated structured text PLC programs for various mechanical and electrical systems and components including compressors, condensers, refrigerated circuits, air-handling units, roof-top units, make-up air units, variable frequency drives, lighting controls, and power monitoring. In addition to the development and integration for these mechanical and electrical systems, Mr. Slattery has a strong background in integrating these PLC systems with human-machine interfaces (HMI), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. Mr. Slattery has analyzed the performance of these mechanical and electrical systems to enhance system efficiency and troubleshoot past failures.
Mr. Slattery has hands on experience inspecting and troubleshooting various residential, commercial, and industrial mechanical system failures. He has inspected chillers, boilers, furnaces, hot water heaters, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, pumps, plumbing fittings, piping systems, fire sprinkler systems, expansion joints, and high-pressure steam systems.
