Andrew R. Carpenter, P.E., Chicago, Illinois
Based in the Chicago office, Mr. Carpenter is a District Manager and a Principal Consultant with our Industrial Practice Group. As a chemical engineer and licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois with more than 20 years of experience, Mr. Carpenter has experience performing scientific investigation of chemical process accidents, chemical releases, reactive chemical accidents, fires, and explosions, and catastrophic accidents involving loss of life and significant property damage and off-site consequences. Additionally, Mr. Carpenter has extensive background in process safety, process hazard analysis and risk assessment, combustible dust hazard evaluation, occupational health and safety consulting, hazard recognition, and production capacity analysis. Mr. Carpenter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University and Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Christian R. Sax, P.E., P.T.O.E., A.C.T.A.R. Dallas, Texas
Mr. Sax is a Senior Consultant with our Forensics Practice Group, based in the Dallas office. He is a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer, Certified Traffic Control Supervisor, Certified Crash Data Retrieval Technician and Analyst and an ACTAR Accredited Accident Reconstructionist with more than 10 years of experience. His areas of expertise include vehicle collision reconstruction, highway work zone traffic control, roadway design, traffic signal operations, and traffic control devices. He has performed collision reconstruction and engineering analyses on hundreds of cases involving work zone and traffic control related issues, commercial tractor/trailers, passenger vehicles, pedestrian crashes, bicycle and motorcycle collisions, and rollovers. He has testified as an expert witness at deposition and trial settings. A licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, Illinois, New York, Michigan and Texas; Mr. Sax holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering from Iowa State University.
Michael A.K. Liebschner, Ph.D. Houston, Texas
Dr. Liebschner is a Senior Consultant with our Biomechanical Practice Group, based in the Houston office. During his more than 18 years of experience in the development and optimization of diagnostic and treatment options for orthopedic injuries, he has conducted multiple human subject trials on wearable diagnostic devices for bone injuries and for early detection of stress fractures and osteoporosis. Dr. Liebschner performs biomechanical analysis on cases involving low-speed accidents, driver determination, falling objects, slip and falls, amusement rides, and other accidental events. He has reconstructed accidents involving low-speed accidents, high-speed fatality collisions, pedestrian accidents, vehicle rollovers and other types of accidents. Dr. Liebschner is fluent in both English and German and holds a Professional Certification in Electrical and Precision Engineering from Staatliche Feintechnik Schule, Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ruhr University Bochum, and a Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont.
Robert O. Martin, P.E. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Based in the Oklahoma City office, Mr. Martin is a Senior Consultant with our Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) and Industrial Practice Groups. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Oklahoma with more than 20 years of experience and has extensive education, training, and experience in troubleshooting failures in manufacturing and process industries. His expertise includes design of machines, pumps and piping, process systems foundations and structures, composite structures and tanks, personnel platforms and equipment structures on mobile units, automatic controls engineering, hydraulic and pneumatic power systems, guarding and project management. He has vast engineering and applied experience in vehicle systems of automobiles, trucks, heavy machines and farm equipment. Additionally, he has hands-on experience in the areas of home construction, wiring, HVAC systems, plumbing and home appliance failures and repairs. Mr. Martin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University.
David R. Meyers, I.A.A.I.-C.F.I. Charlotte, North Carolina
Mr. Meyers is a Division Manager with our Fire Practice Group based in the Charlotte office. Serving as a Fire Investigator for more than twenty years with multiple jurisdictions where he has investigated and determined the origin and cause of more than 1,000 fires including commercial and residential structures, vehicles, marine and heavy equipment. Mr. Meyers is a Certified Firefighter II by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), Hazardous Materials Technician, and a Certified HAZWOPER Specialist by Cincinnati State College. He has experience reviewing and approving fire protection system plans including automatic sprinkler systems and fire alarm systems for compliance with local, state, and national applicable codes. Mr. Meyers holds a Bachelor of Fire Science degree from Kaplan University in Milwaukee, WI and is a Certified HAZWOPER specialist by Cincinnati State College.
