BACKGROUND:

Richard has over 40 years of experience in construction projects in the United Kingdom, the Middle East, and Europe. Richard is a chartered quantity surveyor, a qualified arbitrator and an adjudicator. He is included on the adjudication panels of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Technology and Construction Solicitors Association.

Richard is periodically appointed by the RICS and the parties for the purposes of expert determination. He is routinely appointed as an independent expert by one of the parties on disputes involving all aspects of quantum and negligence matters. Richard is also appointed as a single joint expert and has been a member of a dispute resolution board involved in a significant engineering project.

Richard has extensive experience of claims preparation and management on many complex projects. He has been involved in structured negotiations, adjudications and arbitrations. He has given evidence in the Technology and Construction Court, to Arbitral Tribunals and a planning enquiry. Richard has been regularly nominated for over 25 years as an adjudicator in disputes involving quantum, non-payment and professional fees.

Richard has knowledge and understanding of all the major forms of Contract which include, JCT, ICE, NEC, FIDIC, and other bespoke forms.
