Scott M. Drouin, Ph.D.
Senior Consultant
Houston, Texas

Dr. Scott Drouin is a Senior Toxicology Consultant with more than 22 years of experience in Toxicology, Immunology, Lung Physiology, food testing, and laboratory sciences. As part of the Rimkus Toxicology and Food Safety practice group, Dr. Drouin leads cases involving exposure to materials in food, as well as human exposure to chemical and environmental substances, such as mold, and employs toxicological principles to assess causation of health endpoints from associated exposures. He specializes in cases involving environmental and food allergies, asthma, foodborne illness, and childhood exposure, as well as leukemia, lung cancer, and lung infection and disease. Dr. Drouin’s work as an expert witness and litigation support has involved a diverse set of toxicological issues in the areas of workers’ compensation, toxic tort, environmental exposure, and food contamination. Dr. Drouin holds a Doctorate in Microbiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from Providence College in Rhode Island. View Profile.

Christopher S. Spaeth, Ph.D.

Dr. Christopher Spaeth is a Senior Toxicology Consultant with more than 15 years of experience in Toxicology, Neuroscience, Genetics, and Molecular Biology. Dr. Spaeth’s rich academic and professional background includes publishing his ground-breaking research in the fields of neuroscience, genetics, and toxicology, while both teaching as an adjunct professor of Neuroscience, and as a financial market analyst of early-stage pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Spaeth has extensive experience in toxins that affect the nervous system as well as evaluation of consumer products for toxicity. Dr. Spaeth has provided litigation support and has served as an expert witness in areas including those involving food-related toxins, solvents, dermal toxicity, and drug and alcohol cases. As a former cosmetic toxicologist at a leading cosmetic company, he brings extensive regulatory experience performing hazard assessments, dose and exposure assessments, risk assessments, and management. He has written hundreds of safety assessments of cosmetic ingredients for products currently on the market.
