Meet San Antonio-based Fire Consultant Michael Collins, IAAI-CFI! Mike’s career includes more than 27 years of experience in San Antonio fire service as a firefighter/EMT and arson investigator.
As a Rimkus Fire Consultant, Mike is responsible for determining fire origin, cause, and responsibility. His investigative capabilities involve fires and explosions in residential, commercial, and vehicle losses; product liability; fraud analysis; arson; fire safety systems; and evidence collection.
He holds several certifications related to the investigation of fires and arson:
- Certified Fire Investigator – International Association of Arson Investigators
- Licensed Private Investigator – Texas
- Master Arson Fire Investigator – Texas Commission on Fire Protection
- Master Firefighter Certification – Texas Commission on Fire Protection
Mike’s 27 years of experience include 14 years as a fire investigator in the combined public and private sectors, specializing in determination of the origin and cause of fire and explosion incidents. He served in multiple divisions of the San Antonio Fire Department and completed the San Antonio Police Academy in order to serve as in the Arson Investigation and Fire Inspection units.
Mike’s expertise includes fires in commercial and residential structures, farm and heavy equipment, and vehicles. He applies this knowledge and experience to provide timely and professional fire investigations and forensic consulting services to Rimkus clients in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
